Who we are

ResolvDNS is a domain intelligence API service operated at resolvdns.net. This policy explains what data we collect, why we collect it, and how we handle it.

What data we collect
  • IP addresses — logged on each API request for rate limiting and abuse prevention. Retained for 90 days.
  • API keys — a randomly generated token associated with your usage. No name or email is required to generate a key.
  • Usage logs — which endpoints were called and when. Used for billing, rate limiting, and abuse detection. Retained for 90 days.
  • Billing data — if you upgrade to a paid plan, payment is handled entirely by Stripe. We store only your Stripe customer ID and subscription tier — no card details ever reach our servers.
  • Domain query data — domains you look up are cached for up to 1 hour to improve performance. We do not link query history to individuals beyond what is in usage logs.
What we do not collect
  • No names, email addresses, or contact details (unless you email us directly)
  • No browser cookies beyond what is necessary for the admin panel (staff only)
  • No tracking pixels, analytics scripts, or advertising SDKs
Third-party services

Stripe — used for payment processing on paid plans. Stripe's privacy policy applies to data you submit during checkout. We do not store card details.

No other third-party services receive your data.

Data about domains

The domain data returned by our API (WHOIS, DNS, SSL, RDAP) is sourced entirely from public registries. We do not enrich it with private data. If you believe data about a domain you control is inaccurate or should be removed from our cache, see our Data Removals page.

Data retention
  • Usage logs and IP records: 90 days
  • Domain cache: up to 1 hour per entry
  • API keys: until deleted by user or revoked by us
  • Billing records: as required by Stripe and applicable law
Your rights

You may request deletion of your API key and associated usage logs at any time via our removals page. As we collect no personal identifiers beyond IP address and API key, there is no personal profile to export.
